Osteoporosis and Back Pain

Abstract
Osteoporosis is the most common metabolic skeletal disorder predisposing fragility fracture by loss of bony component and disintegration of its structure in postmenopausal women and the elderly, which may cause disability and can increase morbidity and mortality. Although it seems simple, there has been many controversies about target of the assessment and the goal of management. With understanding the nature of the ailment, the definition has been changed from the original one and many diagnostic tools and therapeutic agents are developed over last decades. The article reviewed the recent advent of diagnosis and treatment of the osteoporosis.
